Summertime is a time of leisure and escapes from every-day life routine. It is also an excellent opportunity to take pleasure in a variety of cultural festivals. And if you happen to be in Budva, Montenegro during hot summer night of 30 July don’t miss your chance to see one of the best documentary theatre plays produced in SEE region – KoTo(R) o KOTORU
This project started as a community organized need to examine influences of tourism and uncontrolled construction on the UNESCO listed town of Kotor and the surroundings. It was initiated by SEE Heritage member organization EXPEDITIO. The process turned out to be very engaging and important for the citizens involved in it, and under the guidance of the theater director Petar Pejakovic the play was born.
This play will make you laugh, but it will also cut short your summer getaway from reality and make you think about our society and future. Even though this is a story about Kotor, it is very much applicable to other cities in our region. Be brave and watch it. In the end you will have to applaud the daring citizens of Kotor.
