Have you heard about on-going research project “Evaluation of Montenegrin summer pastures through the sustainable development of agriculture and tourism – KATUN”
The name might be long and confusing, viagra but what this project really is about is how to keep sustainable traditional way of cattle breed and milk-made products in the summer pastures – KATUN.The field visits will last for several mounts, remedy and during that time summer-shepherd-settlements (katun) will be mapped on various mountains. This research will also consider development of agriculture and agro-tourism.
.When warm weather comes and snow melts down, shepherds go with their cattle high into the mountains. During the summer, it may be too warm in valleys and grass dries. Sometimes, there might even be a lack of water. But in the mountains, climate is milder, so it is much easier to feed the cattle. It is not necessary to overemphasize the values of the environment in uninhabited mountainous areas. Superiority of air, water, herbs, etc. And those are places where shepherds and cattle spend few months a year. Can you imagine quality of milk-made products from katun?
