An agreement on the implementation of the project “Heritage – Driver of Development, capsule Dubrovnik and Boka Kotorska region – joint cross border activities in applying new methodologies in natural and cultural heritage protection and management” has been signed today between the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the Municipality of Tivat. The project was approved within a Cross-Border Programme Croatia-Montenegro, sovaldi under the Measure 1.1: Joint actions for environment, search nature and cultural heritage protection. The project implementation starts at the beginning of March 2013.

The Municipality of Tivat is the project’s lead partner, while the main partner on Croatian side is the Physical Planning Institute of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The total budget of the project is 554.983 €, while the amount for the Municipality of Tivat is 293.945 €. Partners of the Municipality of Tivat in this project are non-governmental organizations EXPEDITIO Centre for Sustainable Spatial Development from Kotor and the Cultural Heritage Association “Napredak” Gornja Lastva from Tivat.

The project will include activities aimed at improving collaboration and networking between different actors dealing with protection, planning and management of natural and cultural heritage; joint activities in applying new methodologies for natural and cultural heritage protection and management; a joint promotion and dissemination; and creating of a model for other areas of Croatia and Montenegro, based on the experiences gained through the project.
