CHwB-Albania is looking for volunteers to assist at this year’s Regional Restoration Camps. Camp volunteers will attend the full camp and assist with a variety of tasks to help make the experience as rewarding as possible for participants. They will help organizers, craftspeople and participants with issues of coordination, communication and guidance. Join us to learn the fascinating technique of dry-stone walling. This time we will create a spiral - shaped path leading to a stone hill, which will be supported by dry-stone walls.

This is our fourth workshop with the renown association Dragodid, which is nationally and internationally active in preserving the skills of drystone walling.

limekiln.1On the island Brac on 11th and 12th March, SEE Heritage's member 4 GRADA DRAGODID had the opportunity to participate in a limekiln-making workshop organized by the "Earth for Us", and this was Dragodid's second time to participate on the same workshop.

Limekiln is a simple traditional drywall construction for obtaining lime stone. They are present along the Adriatic coast and beyond the Mediterranean. In the last decades the need to produce lime in this kind of traditional way disappeared, modern material became available on the market and thus construction of limekilns stopped.

00hb od hok do polFine Art and Craft’s project "From the Stools to the Shelf" for the training of women in construction crafts has been supported by the organization "Rekonstrukcija zenski fond" again this year.

Participants will primarily learn the basics of working with wood. Except in theory, they will have the opportunity to construct very practical wooden elements of any home and in combination with earth: dividing walls, shelves, stools and many other things...

Workshops will take place in Mošorin in two parts:
Part One: 27-31. May and
Part Two: 3-7. June

7 Most Endangered 300x100 960pxNominate a heritage site for the 7 Most Endangered programme 2018

The 7 Most Endangered programme identifies endangered monuments and sites in Europe and mobilizes public and private partners on a local, national and European level to find a viable future for those sites.

Entries can be submitted by Europa Nostra’s country representations, member and associate organisations as well as by established public and private bodies active in the heritage field located in countries where Europa Nostra is not yet represented.

If you know of important heritage that is endangered – such as a historic monument or archaeological site, a place of worship, an industrial complex, a historical park, a museum or even a movable heritage asset –, nominate it for the 7 Most Endangered programme 2018.

ORGANIZING TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS FROM YOUR COLLECTION AND PROMOTING THEM AROUND THE WORLD

21-22 April, 2017

Location: Benaki Museum, Koumbari 1, Athens

A 2 day workshop that focuses on how temporary exhibitions can enhance and promote the mission of a museum, create new audiences and generate revenue for an institution.

Starting with a look at building institutional strategy for exhibition making and partnership building, participants will explore the process behind making temporary exhibitions for display at home and internationally. This will include identifying exhibition objectives, shaping the narrative and content to create a compelling visitor experience as well as the practicalities of actually delivering a project in another country. The workshop will encourage a discursive approach and participants are welcome to bring their own ideas and projects to the table.
